Collaborations

Art has the power to connect people, and this is exactly what Korevaars work does. His art is not only a means of addressing social issues, but also a platform for collaboration and personal growth. A diverse team of interns, family, friends, experts and volunteers work in his studio. Together, they create a close-knit community where engagement and development are key.

Korevaar likes to explore collaborations in which art plays a connecting role. Innovative cross-pollinations at the intersection of art, technology, social change and circular economy appeal to him.

Korevaar has been exploring the use of recycled plastic in his art since 2017. The plastic is collected by Uniplastic, an organisation that employs people with disabilities. These people collect materials such as mayonnaise buckets and flower pots from local businesses and non-profit organisations. Instead of being destroyed, these materials are given a second life as part of Korevaars artworks. After the plastic is cleaned and sorted by material and colour, it is made into marble-like sculptures for use in the kinetic installations. In Korevaars studio, young people from the Herstelwerkplaats participate. These young people are in their own recovery process and actively contribute to the creation of the artworks.

Korevaars work reflects the value of art as a connecting force. It shows how art can contribute to social change, sustainability and the creation of an inclusive community where people discover and develop new possibilities together.
