Kinetic Art on the Occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Van Bodegraven Electric Motor Works

To mark the 75th anniversary of the family-owned electric motor factory, the Van Bodegraven Collection will be presented in 2016-2017. The collection, a collaboration of five leading artists, offers a new perspective on both technology and art. Among the artists are Jelle Korevaar, Art van Triest, Chantal de Wolde, Marije Kok and Oscar Peters, all of whom have created kinetic artworks that focus on movement and technology.

The exhibition responds to the idea that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’, as Shakespeare said, and invites visitors to experience art and technology in an innovative way. The artists work together to combine the world of electric motors and art, focusing on dynamism, innovation and aesthetics. This special collection shows not only the creative power of the art world, but also the close connection between craft, technology and design.
