Salon Museum Gouda

Salon 2019 at Museum Gouda

29-01-2019

From 27 January to 10 June, Museum Gouda presents Salon 2019, an exhibition that reflects the art climate in Gouda and the Groene Hart. Twenty-five carefully selected artists will show their best work in a diverse collection of painting, photography, video and installation art.

We cordially invite you to the festive opening on 27 January at 15:00. This year there is something special: for the first time, cultivation will be exhibited authentically. Thanks to 20 metres of cable pulled under the museum, a solar panel in the courtyard can supply energy to a parrot installation. Although it is still dark months, the possibility of seeing the parrot in motion heightens the anticipation, making the experience all the more exciting.

The Salon will include the work of Jelle Korevaar. His art explores his personal relationship with the church, combined with his perspective on the world and its shortcomings. This field of tension creates themes that reach beyond the personal, expressing themselves in poetic and kinetic images. Korevaar's machines reflect the dynamics of extremism, where a small action can disrupt an entire society. The work highlights the invisible forces driving such changes and calls for reflection.

Artist talks with Jelle Korevaar are on Sunday 17 February and Sunday 12 May between 2pm and 3pm.
