On 24 May 2023, the documentary ‘JELLE.’ premiered, an inspiring and personal story about kinetic artist Jelle Korevaar's quest for change and his role in society. For 3.5 years, documentary makers Marijn de Ruiter and Julian van de Hoek followed Korevaar on his journey, giving a unique glimpse into his thinking and making process.
The documentary captures the transformation of Korevaar's work and offers viewers an in-depth look into the working methods of an artist who translates his environment and his own search for meaning into his art. From the first sketches to the creation of his kinetic installations, ‘JELLE.’ shows the evolution of his art and the significance he attaches to the social themes he incorporates into his work.
Marijn de Ruiter and Julian van de Hoek, the makers of the documentary, are proud of the result. ‘It was a unique experience to follow Jelle in his process. We not only saw his work change, but also the personal quest that inspires his art. We are happy to share this story with others.’
