Solo Exhibition Wageningen Campus

Beneath the Surface - Solo Exhibition by Jelle Korevaar
27-08-2025
5 September – 13 October
In Beneath the Surface, kinetic artist Jelle Korevaar takes you to the hidden world beneath the sea. Using recycled plastic, he brings marine organisms such as mussels and seaweed to life in an impressive way. These materials are not just waste: they have been carefully collected, sorted and processed in social workshops. Some of the reused material comes from the laboratories of Wageningen University & Research.
The exhibition shows how discarded plastic can be given new life, but at the same time holds up a mirror to us. Ironically, plastic pollution is one of the greatest threats to the ocean life that is central to these works.
