Jelle Korevaar brings together technology and nature in his art in unexpected ways. Combining organic materials such as bones, skulls and feathers with steel hinges and wheels. Much of his work originates from a critical but engaged attitude towards the church world. As he moves through this, he experiences a tension, which inspires and informs the themes he depicts. (RE)ACT was a kinetic, tech and sound art festival organised from the Kunstkerk in Dordrecht, which took place from 4 August to 13 November 2022. With this festival, the Kunstkerk presented imagination on the one hand as the driving force behind the technological developments and cultural changes needed for a vision of the future. On the other hand, we question the extent to which we as a society and as human beings can base our hopes on technology and innovation.
